In a 2-year-period (1961~1962) there have been three patients with struma ovarii at the llsin Women¢¥s Hospital. In the first case, age 37, the left of arian tumor was made up entirely of thyroid tissue. In the second case, ago 48, serous cystadenoma of the right ovary contained thyroid tissue in predominant amounts. The third case, age 21, was benign cystic teratoma of the left ovary and malignant teratoma of the right ovary, which contained thyroid tissue and carcinomatous portions. The patient returned within eight months with extensive peritoneal recurrence.
